She/Her

Amelia is a queer and neurodiverse dancer, event organiser and studio manager passionate about creative arts and culture. Studying sociology and cultural studies in tandem with her employment in people-centred roles since 2015, she has come to value and continually develop her skills in empathy, critical thinking, and working with diverse communities. Through the years, Amelia has been heavily involved in organising and directing notable dance events such as Ladies Night, Innov8tion, the Foundations Workshop Series and Destructive Steps. ‘Community first’, authenticity and understanding of contexts form the basis of her approach as a dancer and organiser. 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art would like to acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which we live, work and create. We recognise the enduring connections between First Nations people and the land, waters, culture and communities that have existed for over 60,000 years. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
