Kate Warren

Kate Warren is an art historian, writer and curator from Melbourne. She was co-curator (with Mikala Tai) of 4A’s exhibition I don’t want to be there when it happens (2017). Kate has curated recent exhibitions in Melbourne for Channels Video Art Festival, Australia’s only biennial festival of video art, and Blindside Gallery, and she was previously Assistant Curator at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Melbourne. Kate received her PhD in Art History from Monash University in 2016, and her research focuses on cross-overs between contemporary art, cinema, video and photography. She publishes extensively, including critical essays and reviews in Persona StudiesHistory of PhotographyDisciplineAustralian and New Zealand Journal of Art and College Art Association Reviews, as well as dozens of articles in art and film magazines, and exhibition catalogues. She is also an editor of Peephole Journal, an online journal dedicated to creative film criticism.
