The First Step

4A invites visual art high school and university students to learn from contemporary artists by registering for The First Step, a one-on-one session encouraging future pathways in the arts.

Students can meet Kalanjay Dhir, Audrey Newton, EJ SON, Chris Yee and Louise Zhang to discuss tertiary education topics, including how to navigate the industry and the first steps to take as an early-career artist.

Each participant can book in for a 15-minute time slot and select an artist preference that is in line with their creative interests. This free session is offered across two dates:

Saturday 23 July, 12pm - 2pm: Kalanjay Dhir, Audrey Newton and Chris Yee
Sunday 24 July, 12pm - 2pm: EJ SON and Louise Zhang

This session is recommended for high school and university students.

More info

4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art would like to acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which we live, work and create. We recognise the enduring connections between First Nations people and the land, waters, culture and communities that have existed for over 60,000 years. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
