Spaces to Stir

When

29 January 2022 -
27 February 2022

Location

Australian National Maritime Museum

2 Murray St, Sydney NSW

For Lunar New Year, Cindy Yuen-Zhe Chen will present a newly-commissioned body of work responding to unique landscapes and stories of women-identifying diaspora. Exploring artistic practice, aesthetics and labour, these works will be informed by discussions and interviews with women-identifying artists and friends of Chen. Presenting a bespoke exhibition comprised of video, sound and installation, Spaces to Stir will amplify the quiet and considered lived experiences of the artist.

Cindy, an East Asian woman wearing a dark dress, stands inside a low-lit museum space next to a screen installation and a serie of paper scrolls suspended from the ceiling.
